Plans for every stage of your book: from Book Worm to Published

Crystal Hearts® Press has four author plans — Book Worm (free trial), Storyteller, Author and Published — each matching a stage of writing, editing and selling your book with AI.
A question I hear a lot is, "Which plan do I need?" The honest answer is: the one that matches where your book is right now. Here's how I think about the four stages on Crystal Hearts® Press — from the first word to the first shelf.
Book Worm — start writing, free for 14 days
Book Worm is where every book begins. You get the Writing Studio, one book project, and 14 days free to outline and draft. No card needed to start. If you're at the "I have an idea but I'm not sure how to begin" stage, this is your stage.
Storyteller — shape your story
When your draft is growing and you want help with structure, tone and the next chapter, Storyteller (£9.99/mo) adds AI writing credits, chapter continuity and tone memory. This is the stage for the messy middle — where most books either find their shape or stall.
Author — prepare your book
Author (£19.99/mo) is for when you're finishing. It adds all seven AI assist modes, advanced editing (rewrite, tighten, line-edit), a book-level continuity engine, cover concept generation and export-ready formatting. The stage where a draft becomes a manuscript.
Published — share your book with the world
Published (£49.99/mo) is for when you're ready to sell. You get a storefront, author profile, marketing tools, readership and sales analytics, and a place in the author earnings pool. Books sell with a 60/40 platform/author split.
How to choose
Don't overthink it. Start on Book Worm and write. When you hit a wall that AI could help you over, move to Storyteller. When you're editing more than drafting, move to Author. When the book is done and you want readers, move to Published. You can see all four plans here.
The journey isn't a ladder to climb — it's just the natural shape of making a book. We'll meet you at whichever stage you're at.
Frequently asked questions
Can I start writing for free?
Yes. Book Worm gives you a free 14-day trial of the Writing Studio with one book project. No card needed — start outlining and drafting straight away.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel anytime via the Stripe Customer Portal and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period, then return to the Book Worm stage.
Which plan lets me sell my book?
Published (£49.99/mo) includes everything you need to publish and sell — a storefront, author profile, marketing tools, analytics and a place in the earnings pool.
Do the AI tools keep my voice?
They're designed to. Storyteller and above include tone memory and chapter continuity so the AI writes alongside you, not over you.
