There is a voice inside you that has known your name since before you knew it yourself.

Not the loud voice that lists everything that could go wrong. Not the one that sounds like a worried parent or a disappointed teacher or the classmate who laughed at the wrong moment. Those voices are real, and sometimes they are hard to ignore. But they are not the one we are talking about here.

This voice is quieter. It does not shout. It does not arrive in a rush of big feelings or beat its fists against the walls of your chest. It speaks in the small, still places — in the breath before you step forward, in the moment just before sleep when the day has finally finished being loud.

You may have already met it, without knowing what to call it.

It was there when you were about to try something new and something in you said: *you can do this.* Not because you had proof, not because someone else told you so — but because some part of you simply knew. That was the voice.

It was there the time you made the mistake from Chapter Ten — the one that felt like the end — and something quiet inside you said: *this is not the end.* Even when you could not quite believe it yet.

It was there in the brave, quiet moments from Chapter Eleven. You just may not have had a name for it.

Here is what we know about this voice: it has always been yours. It is not borrowed from someone else's confidence or copied from a character in a book. It is not the version of you that performs or pretends or tries very hard to seem fine. It is the version of you that simply *is* — unguarded, unhurried, real.
